2022 was an interesting year. Even though there were definite high points, all in all the year was just kinda ‘meh’! We started the year last January, living in a new house that we had just moved into the previous November with lots of excitement and ambition for the new year. We love our little neighborhood, but honestly, we thought that it would simply be a temporary housing location between churches. Here we are a year later, and we’re still in our little neighborhood. God chose not to place us in a new church or in a new full time position in 2022. I personally don’t understand why, but that’s not my worry. My responsibility is to keep myself available for God to use wherever He wants, and to be obedient when He calls.
Instead, I closed out the year working three different part time jobs, and we have a couple of companies that we’re affiliates for. Never would have thought this would be where we are. I will say this, I have enjoyed the change of scenery in the workplace. Not necessarily enjoying the different jobs I do, but the change from the full time ministry aspect to that in the secular world. God knew I needed a break. The last few years have definitely been tumultuous.
One huge highlight of the year for me has been the publication of my first two books. I had the opportunity to begin designing my own line of journals, composition notebooks, etc. which I sell on Amazon. Check out the LINK in the MENU for my Online BookStore. To say the least I jumped on that to say the least. And I’m having a blast doing it. I’ve also had the opportunity to design Children’s Learning and Activity Books, Coloring Books for Children and Adults, and even Recipe Books. Man what a blast. But in the middle of that, I was able to launch my first books! And I am overwhelming blessed to have that opportunity. I currently have a number of writing projects in the works, and I pray to have several of them published in 2023. To me, this has become the focus of my ministry. Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2 to “Preach the word!” But Paul didn’t say, ‘Use a pulpit.’ The publishing of these books have become my pulpit. And God is blessing us through that even more than we could have ever imagined.
So what about 2023? I honestly don’t know. And it really doesn’t matter because God is still in charge, and I’m not. We are praying that God will call us to a new place of service, that will allow me to continue to focus on my writing. In addition, I hope to be a a point…sooner rather than later…to relaunch our online ministry. Till then, we remain steadfast in His Word, fully locked and loaded in life’s trenches, one day at a time…one battle at a time.
Stay armed and focused friends. For the war is real, and the battles we fight are not against flesh and blood…
