One of the greatest ‘movie props’ to ever come out of Hollywood, came out in a 1964 movie about a magical nanny, along with her chimney sweep friend, and their adventures in helping 2 neglected children become closer to their father.

One of the favorite movies around our house was “Mary Poppins.”  We loved watching the antics of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.

One of the items in the movie…this “PROP”, that still stands out to me, and I use it as an illustration very often, is Mary Poppins’ Carpet BAG!

Any time you see an image for Mary Poppins, she has her ‘Parrot Umbrella’ in one hand and her Carpet Bag in the other.

However, when it comes to excuses, distractions, or keeping believers uncommitted, satan also has a bag of tricks!
