I will be the absolute first to admit that I am nowhere near an expert in criminal law. And to be completely honest, I’m just a simple observer in this political arena. But in it’s simplicity, there is something that stands out to me concerning this ’email dilemma’ regarding Democratic presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton appears to be a highly educated, culturally savvy individual. After all, she has won her party’s necessary delegates to stand at the front of the line for her party’s presidential nomination.
So having said that, does it not seem odd that someone of her caliber…her education, that she should know better than to ‘delete’ “delicate emails regarding national security?” The ‘delete key’ is a simplistic key stroke. But in her defense, I can see making one mistake by using the delete key. I know first hand, because I’ve made that very same mistake before. Not regarding classified national emails, but nonetheless, I have accidentally…carelessly…hit that ‘delete’ button only to whine and whimper and redo all of my now lost work. But somewhere in the neighborhood of 35,000 deletions does seems a bit far fetched.
And again in her defense, FBI Director Comey has found that it was extreme carelessness on her part that caused this. Director Comey’s verbal indictment on her behavior definitely paints a picture of someone that I’m not sure we need serving as our Commander-in-Chief. Then again, if she did knowingly delete said emails, I’m not sure that we need that person leading our country either. But then again, I’m just a simple observer.
